GrainStories Bespoke Furniture turns reclaimed American wood into everyday heirlooms built to anchor a room, invite gathering, and carry real story in the grain. Each piece is designed around contrast: thick, grounded slabs paired with lift and negative space (Levitate), salvaged wood framed in crisp resin geometry with optional glow (Waterfall Cube), or restraint-forward live edges refined into clean, quiet form (Live Edges). Every build starts with hand-selected material and ends with a hand-finished surface meant to be lived on—customized to your dimensions, your space, and the feeling you want the piece to bring home.

Levitate Series

Grounded weight, lifted presence

Where mass meets lift, each piece is built from a thick, hand-selected slab - bold, grounded, and unmistakably natural, then paired with a crystal-clear glass top that appears to hover above the wood. The result is a quiet illusion of levitation with warm grain, clean edges, and a modern plane of glass, balanced by negative space and precise joinery. Designed to sit effortlessly in contemporary or rustic interiors, Levitate celebrates contrast - weight and air, old and new, organic movement and intentional symmetry. Shown below is a custom coffee table designed using this concept. While this was a custom piece, I can extend this concept to side tables, console tables or whichever piece you choose.

Levitate, Coffee Table

This elegant coffee table showcases a blend of premium materials with a minimalist design. The wooden base with its natural finish, texture and blemishes balances the sleek look of glass providing a sense of comfort, connection to nature and a grounding contrast to any contemporary or rustic space.

Materials and Dimensions

High quality 1/2” thick tempered glass, 1 1/2” thick salvaged walnut wooden base and reclaimed walnut beams (from a Richmond, VA based supplier of architectural salvage).

The few blemishes around a knot were carefully carved out and poured in with deep black epoxy not to hide the imperfection, but to frame it.

Sanded to perection, a finish of Odie’s Wax accentuates the intricate grain patterns for added character.

Waterfall Cube Series

Wood in motion, stilled in light

The Waterfall Cube Series explores contrast - ancient, reclaimed grain meeting modern clarity. Each piece frames salvaged wood inside crisp geometry, letting live edges flow into tinted resin like a frozen current. The result is architectural and airy: mass + negative space, history + precision, with optional lighting that turns the resin planes into a quiet glow in the room. This is a custom piece; however, I can extend this concept to side tables, console tables or whichever piece you choose.

Cube, Hallway Table

Cube based hallway/entry table with an intentionally asymmetrical composition. One side becomes a solid waterfall plane, the other stays open and light. The top is smoked epoxy field with a hand-laid geometric hardwood lattice that reads like structure and art at once.

Materials and Dimensions

Built from salvaged American walnut and framed with white oak for crisp edges and structural support. The entire table is finished by hand with Odie’s Wax to deepen grain and add a durable, low-sheen protection, and it can be complemented with integrated LED lighting to cast a subtle glow through the resin and highlight the wood’s natural contours.

Each piece begins with a hand-selected slab that keeps its natural live edge : organic, imperfect, and full of grain character, then gets refined into clean, quiet geometry. The result is a table that feels honest and effortless: warm wood as the focal point, balanced by a simple base that lets the edge and figure do the talking. Shown below is a custom dining table designed using this concept. While this was a custom piece, I can extend or adapt this concept to a piece you choose.

This one-of-a-kind dining table begins with hand‑selected reclaimed hardwood slabs, left honest at the edge—organic, imperfect, and rich with grain character—then refined into clean, quiet geometry. The result is bold yet calm: warm wood as the focal point, balanced by a minimal steel base that lets the live edge and figure do the talking. Natural voids and marks are preserved as part of the story, sealed smooth to the touch, and finished with a protective low‑sheen coat meant to be lived on, not babied
